Champions League Odds 2023/24 – Can Anyone Stop Man City & Pep?

In this post we take a look at the Champions League odds 2023/24 where there is a familiar name at the top of the betting market.

Manchester City finally fulfilled their potential last season, winning the Champions League for the first time. This victory meant they became only the second English side to complete the illustrious treble of a Premier League, FA Cup, and UEFA Champions League crown in the same season after Manchester United’s success in the 1998/99 season.

Manchester City looked unstoppable for the majority of last season, with nobody really causing them any problems in any competition. However, it remains to be seen whether they can continue their dominance next season, especially in the Champions League with the departure of some key players over the summer.

This post takes a look at who are the main contenders to challenge Pep Guardiola’s side next season. Let’s have a look at the latest UEFA Champions League odds for the 2023-24 tournament.

Champions League 23/24 Betting Favourites

Manchester City – 2/1

Man City are the favourites to win the 2023/24 Champions League at odds of 2/1. Those odds imply that City have a 33.3% chance of defending their title next season.

Manchester City finally took the competition by storm last season to win the 22/23 Champions League. They had long been fancied by the bookmakers and went into most recent seasons as competition favourites but had never been able to get over the hump previously.

In last year’s final they beat Inter Milan 1-0 thanks to a goal from holding midfielder Rodri. Throughout the competition, they went unbeaten, winning eight matches, drawing five, scoring 32 goals in the process and only conceding 5.

They will be thereabouts again next season with the core of their squad Stones, De Bruyne and Haaland staying on and with Gundogan already shrewdly replaced with Mateo Kovačić and more signings expected. The team that beats them next season will likely be your Champions League Winners 23/24.

Bayern Munich – 7/1

The second favourites for the 2023/24 Champions League are Bayern Munich at odds of 7/1. Those odds imply that Bayern have a 12.5% chance of winning next season’s competition which means they are still a distance behind favourites Man City.

Bayern Munich were the side I tipped to win the Champions League last season, but that prediction came unstuck at the quarter-final stage to eventual champions Man City, with their 3-0 first-leg defeat in Manchester too much to come back from as they crashed out of the competition 4-1 on aggregate.

However, I reckon had they not (wrongly, by my reckoning) sacked Julian Nagelsmann in March in an uncharacteristically rash move, they would’ve stood a better chance of success in the competition.

With that being said, rumours are abound that Harry Kane could be signing for them. If they can secure the transfer of Kane it would add to an already star-studded squad with the likes of Alphonso Davies, Leroy Sané and Thomas Müller among their ranks. Expect the German giants to go close again next season.

PSG – 9/1

With the riches on offer accompanied by the genuine superstar talent that has played with PSG in recent seasons, they should have won at least one Champions League title, never mind multiple. However, in my opinion an absence of the ability to recruit the “right” players rather than the “best” players has stopped them troubling the European elite.

Recent reports have also suggested that Kylian Mbappé could be on the move this summer due to his contract dispute with the club. He could be following Lionel Messi out the door, who has recently joined MLS side Inter Miami which could leave the unreliable Neymar the sole survivor of their star-studded forward line left. And no Champions Leagues to show for it at the club.

However, Christophe Galtier has been replaced by Champions League winner Luis Enrique, and you can expect heavy spending by PSG this summer again, especially if Mbappé leaves the club. If they get beyond the quarter-final this season, it will only be their third time since their 2011 takeover.

Real Madrid – 9/1

European specialists Real Madrid will forever be in the discussion as a potential winner, given they’re the most successful side in the history of the competition. Real Madrid has lost some big names from last season’s squad, with Marco Asensio, Karim Benzema, Mariano Diaz, and Eden Hazard all leaving.

However, with the return of Brahim Diaz, Fran Garcia, and Joselu, along with the signing of Arda Güler and the headliner Jude Bellingham and more signings probably expected, don’t be surprised if Real Madrid wins next season’s competition if their new squad can gel.

Barcelona – 12/1

Barcelona are not the force they once were with Messi and co all ageing and/or departing in recent years. Accompanied by this is their financial issues which will limit them from signing some of the big name players they would like to compete for in the transfer market.

However, their 22/23 La Liga success and young talents like Pedri and Gavi make this a team that you would expect to be a force in Europe in the coming years.

Others Contenders

Elsewhere Arsenal are back in the Champions League following an excellent season last season and is 14/1 to win their first-ever competition.

Man United are 16/1 under ten Hag, who has shown he can manage amongst the European elite in the past with Ajax.

Napoli and Newcastle are also both expected to be dangerous also at 18/1 and 22/1 respectively.
