McGregor Shortens Further For Mayweather Bout

With the biggest fight in history a week away, McGregor supporters are continuing to lay large stakes on the Dublin fighter.

Mayweather may be the odds-on favourite at 1/4 to win the super-fight but so far, more money has been placed on McGregor to wipe Floyd’s unbeaten record.

The odds on Conor McGregor beating Floyd Mayweather shortened further to 3/1 from 7/2 following the announcement that the Nevada State Athletic Commission had approved the lighter 8oz glove request. At their weight class 10oz boxing gloves are mandatory according to NASC rules, but on Wednesday, the Commission announced that they would lift the 10oz law on a one-time only basis.

Punters immediately began rallying behind McGregor bringing him into 3/1 – his shortest odds since the announcement of the fight in June. Many believe a lighter glove will be an advantage to McGregor and he sees it this way too, predicting during an interview that if they both wear the lighter glove, he will KO Floyd Mayweather inside two rounds which is priced at 20/1.

Punters are getting behind even the most outlandish of markets with McGregor to knock Mayweather out with his first punch of the fight shortening to 200/1 from 500/1.

McGregor supporters are putting their money where their mouth is.

Nobody in the boxing world thinks he stands a fighting chance but punters do and money keeps coming in for him. The upcoming Las Vegas super-fight is set to become one of the biggest fights in the history of boxing in terms of betting turnover.
