McGregor To Be King Of The O2

The UFC Fight Night 46 will take over Dublin’s O2 arena this Saturday with ten fights scheduled and the big one that has everyone talking is Conor McGregor v Diego Brandao.

McGregor blasted onto the UFC scene only last year but has been making headlines ever since. The number thirteen-ranked featherweight is favourite at 4/15 with Boylesports to win on home turf.

McGregor was initially scheduled to fight Cole Miller but Brandao stepped up and went straight in at 31/10 to win after Miller was forced to pull out due to injury. The Brazilian suffered a KO defeat to Dustin Poirier in his last fight and can be backed at 4/5 to suffer the same fate from The Notorious.

The fight is priced at 2/7 not to go the full five rounds, with McGregor known to get the job done in the first or second. Only one of his fights thus far has reached the third. With only one win by decision under the Dubliner’s belt, Ireland’s largest independent bookmaker has gone 3/1 that he will win by decision on Saturday. A victory by submission from either side is available at 9/1 with Boylesports.

This is McGregor’s first fight since injuring his knee and his first hometown fight so the pressure is well and truly on, but punters don’t expect him to crumble with many snapping up his 4/15 price.

The Notorious has an impressive twelve wins by KO and could be making that thirteen in the O2 with Boylesports going odds on at 4/15.
