Boylesports set to pay Armagh GAA Fine

Following the news that Armagh GAA are set to be fined €5000 following the incident prior to last weekend’s Ulster Championship match against Cavan, Boylesports have stepped in and are willing to pay the fine for the Orchard County.

Ireland’s largest independent bookmaker who is owned by Armagh native, John Boyle, will now cover the €5000 fine in order for the Orchard County to concentrate on the All-Ireland Football Championship.

Leon Blanche, Head of Communications said: “The Armagh team have no longer the financial burden holding their Championship progress back and with thanks to John Boyle, Paul Grimley’s panel can now concentrate on a crack at winning a 15th Ulster Championship and a 2nd All-Ireland Football title.”

A spokesperson from the Armagh County Board said: “The Management Committee of Armagh GAA would like to thank John Boyle and Boylesports for helping us out of this financial predicament.”

He added: “Now that the fine has been paid, we can focus solely on football matters and hopefully progress further throughout this year’s championship.”
