Punters Split Between Taylor and Cross in PDC Final

Phil Taylor is a 10/11 shot to finish his career off by winning the PDC World Darts Championship in Monday evening’s highly anticipated final.

‘The Power’ reached his 21st World Championship final after seeing off Jamie Lewis in Saturday’s semi-final and now only has World Championship debutant Rob Cross in the way of his 17th world title in what will be his last appearance at the oche.

Punters cannot separate the final pair however as the impressive Cross is also at 10/11 for the showdown at the Alexandra Palace after beating long-time favourite Michael van Gerwen in a thrilling sudden death final leg in Saturday’s second semi-final.

With no 9 darts finishes in this year’s tournament to date, chances are now down to the two remaining players with Cross at 18/1 and Taylor at 22/1 to take out 501 in 9 darts during the final.

BoyleSports are facing a double winnings payout on all markets if the final checkout of the match is over 100.*

The curtain may be about to come down on Phil Taylor’s glittering career and it’s all set up for a romantic finish but Rob Cross is just as popular with the punters as The Power at 10/11 apiece, while we’re already seeing chunky bets on Phil at 22/1 to go out in typical fashion by throwing a 9 darter in the final.

Rob Cross is a big loser in our book because he’s been backed at big prices throughout the year

…and was still a 16/1 shot even after the tournament began, but he’s really lived up to his billing as the dark horse at the Ally Pally.
