Punters Turn To Portugal For Eurovision After Impressive Semi-Final

Eurovision Song Contest

Outright Betting

Following their well-received semi-final 1 performance, Portugal have been heavily supported by punters for victory in the Eurovision Song Contest.

Italy, who have been strong favourites in the run up to the Eurovision final, are beginning to lose their grip at the head of the betting as they drift to 21/20 from 8/11, as punters firmly turn their attention to Portugal who have shortened into second favourites at 13/8 from 5/2.

Another mover off the back of semi-final 1 are 2015 winners Sweden, who have drastically drifted out to 28/1 from 10/1 to win.

Ireland’s Brendan Murray has shortened further not to qualify from Thursday’s semi-final 2 and is now priced at 4/11 to miss out on the final.

The move on Ireland not to qualify came early on Tuesday morning when punters inundated us with bets after a juror, who has since been axed, awarded Ireland just one point for their entry and commented that Ireland have ‘lost it completely’ in relation to the Eurovision.

Ahead of semi-final 2, Bulgaria are the red hot 4/6 favourites to come out on top with Romania second in the betting at the much larger price of 6/1. Ireland are 50/1 outsiders to win the second semi-final.
