Friendless Burnley’s Odds Shorten To Put An End Solksjaer’s Winning Run

Burnley have been given outside odds to be the first side to stop Manchester United winning under interim manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer as they prepare for their second visit to Manchester in four days.

The Clarets found themselves on the end of a 5-0 drubbing and were dumped out of the FA Cup by favourites Manchester City on Saturday and now face the prospect of a visit to Old Trafford to face the Premier League’s in-form side.

Sean Dyche’s side are 20/1 to leave Manchester on Tuesday evening with the same result (5-0) against a United side who have scored 22 goals since Jose Mourinho was sacked as manager, while a win or a draw for Burnley was only given an 11/4 chance but has already drifted to 14/5 with BoyleSports.

Failure to overcome those odds would mean a 9th consecutive victory for United

…under the stewardship of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the Red Devils have been backed into 2/7 from 1/3 since they won away at Arsenal on Friday night. They have also seen their chances of a top 4 finish crash into 6/4 from a high of 11/1 under Jose Mourinho.

Liverpool go into the midweek fixtures as 4/6 favourites to win their first title since 1990, while 6/5 outright shots Manchester City are a red-hot 1/5 to close the gap to just 1 point by beating Newcastle on Tuesday night.
