Man City Would Have Been Better For Sanchez

With Theo Walcott going to Everton, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain leaving for Liverpool over the summer & Alexis Sanchez likely going to Manchester United it tells you everything you need to know about Arsenal Football Club right now.

Arsene’s Arsenal Weakened
They all seemed desperate to get away and it looks to me like there’s no long-term future for Arsene Wenger. When you’re letting players like Sanchez go where is the creativity and drive going to come from? Mesut Ozil is out of contract in the summer too.

Arsenal look to me like a team that aren’t functioning properly at the moment; they’re 8 points behind the Champions League places now and are they going to get Aubameyang in? What about Mkhitaryan? I don’t think they can sign any player better than Sanchez.

United Stronger
It’s a huge coup for Manchester United, it’s a great move for him from a personal point of view. The wages are astronomical but that’s what clubs have to do to bring in top class players these days.

I thought Man City would have been a better move for the Chilean but they didn’t seem keen on wage demands and agent fees but he will make United a better side; they’ll have so many options.

When you’ve got Martial, Rashford & Lukaku and you’re throwing Sanchez in there, their forward line looks so much stronger.

Overall United will have a lot more creativity and that has probably been the biggest criticism of them this season. They’re terrific at the back, no goals conceded in the last 4 games but when they’re trying to break down sides, Alexis gives them added firepower.

Arsene’s future in his own hands
Usually when a manager’s time is nearly up, the board takes the initiative and asks him to step aside but I can’t see that here. He’s done a great job at Arsenal, they’re in a great financial position, he oversaw the move from Highbury to the Emirates but it seems to me too many of the supporters are disheartened.

Arsenal don’t seem like they will compete for the league anymore under Wenger.

I know he’s changed everyone’s thinking in relation to training, diet and fitness levels. He changed the way people went about things in English football, I would say I’ve personally benefited from the knowledge he brought and passed on to people in the game. I’ve thought though for the last 3 or 4 years, his reign had run its course regardless of their FA Cup success.

He looks stressed which is a far cry from the calm persona we knew during his glory years so it would probably be beneficial for him to call it a day.
