Seeley’s Selection – Man City v Crystal Palace

It’s the final set of Premier League fixtures on the BoyleSports coupons before Christmas and it’s going to be very hard to find a way to make some extra money for the festive season when in-form Manchester City entertain Crystal Palace in Saturday’s early live fixture.

The champions, after a very shaky start to their title defence are finally in their groove with seven straight fixtures and start here as overwhelming 2/7 favourites with BoyleSports for this one.

They are fully expected to win, but could you risk the Christmas money on them at the very short quotes, no chance.

City are back scoring goals, which is a frightening prospect, they’ve managed to net in their last 10 matches scoring an average of two goals per game in that period, the worrying thing for them here though is their lack of fit strikers.

Sergo Aguero, Edin Dzeko and Stevan Jovetic are all ruled out injured and Jose Pozo and Jordu Hiwula are expected to lead the City attack. Who? Exactly.. and you want to back them at 2/7?
If that wasn’t bad enough for Manuel Pellegrini, his City defence that has kept four clean sheets in it’s last five matches will also be missing key-man Vincent Kompany who picked up a knock in the 1-0 win at Leicester.

Palace will really fancy their chances of an 11/1 BoyleSports shock in this one, but they haven’t won in the blue half of Manchester since 1990 and despite the key absences Pellegrini can still win the game alone from his midfield talent.

We can’t back City, we can’t make a case for a shock, so were do we make money here then?

The first bet I like is City to win to nil at BoyleSports 20/21, despite Kompany’s absence they still have a defence which can keep Palaces’ powder-puff strikers at bay for 90-minutes.

Neil Warnock’s side are struggling to score goals with only two netted in their last four games and I can see them trying to get back to south London with just a point.

This fixture has been 1-0 to the home side twice in the last three years and at 13/2 with BoyleSports thats the kind of game I’m expecting again in this one.

City score a huge percentage of their home goals in the second half of matches and with Palace expecting to park the bus early doors, it may take the champions a little time to break them down and draw (half-time)-city (full-time) looks a decent play at BoyleSports offer of 3/1.

Despite their injuries City still have a World class midfield which contains YaYa Toure, David Silva and Frank Lampard all of those are capable of scoring goals and my quid will be on Frank Lampard at 6/1 to score the opener.

Lampard has made a career of weighing in with crucial goals and with the absence the main strikers he could be the man to show his goalscoring class here.

REMEMBER “DOUBLE BUBBLE” if Lampard or any of your first goalscorer winning selections net inside the opening 20 minutes Boylesports will double the odds on you winning selection.

Seeley’s Selections:
Man City To Win To Nil @ 20/21
Half Time Draw/Full Time City @ 3/1
Frank Lampard 1st goal @ 6/1

B Lucky
