Seeley’s Selections – Sheffield United v Tottenham – Capital One Cup

Tottenham travel to the “Steel City” on Wednesday night to take on Sheffield United in the second leg of the Capital One Cup semi-final and let’s hope a pray that its better than the first leg.

Spurs just edged past a resilient United 1-0 thanks to an Andros Townsend spot-kick and I’m sure they will ring the changes for what know is a crucial match in their season.

Spurs were dumped out of the FA Cup at the weekend 2-1 by Leicester and this game now takes on a whole new importance and I’m sure coach Mauricio Pochettino as expected to will make wholesale changes. Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen and Nacer Chadli all return and if they make the starting XI I’m sure the 4/6 with BoyleSports will be under some pressure come kick-off time.

Despite the return of the three most influential players, I still couldn’t be rushing to make them at the price just in case Emmanuel Adebayor is given the captains armband again.

One thing I will be backing though is goals and the both teams to score market is where my first bet will be in this one at the bargain price of 4/5 with BoyleSports.
Spurs have not kept a clean sheet away from home all season and this is a very, very tough place to try and get a result and this leaky defence won’t be able to withstand the bombardment they are going to get on a wet, cold January night at Bramall Lane.

United are still in the FA Cup draw after their weekend draw with Preston and in the cup competitions they have already beaten Premier League QPR, West Ham and Southampton this season and they will certainly have their backers at the 19/5 with BoyleSports.

Incredibly 12 of Tottenham’s last 23 matches have ended 2-1 with eight of them resulting in wins for the Premier League side; a 2-1 away win is available at 7/1 with BoyleSports and that is a much better way of getting with the North Londoners than playing on the odds-on quotes.

Tottenham striker Harry Kane is expect to be back to lead the attack and if he does the BoyleSports price of 7/2 on him proving his more than able to force his way into the next England squad with the opening goal in this one is well worth taking as he is the only striker capable of scoring this season.
