United Turn To Blanc To Replace Mourinho?

Jose Mourinho has been sensationally sacked as the Manchester United manager two days after their 3-1 Premier League defeat to league leaders Liverpool.

The defeat was United’s fifth so far this season and proved to be the final nail in Mourinho’s managerial coffin as the club now sits 11 points off the top four in sixth place.

We were torn between replacements as former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte and Real Madrid’s Zinedine Zidane were made the initial joint favourites at 11/4 to be the next permanent manager of the Red Devils.

However, former United defender Laurent Blanc has now leapfrogged the pair having been backed into EVS from 5/1 in the hours after Mourinho’s dismissal. Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is also in the running at 4/1.

Michael Carrick is expected to take over as the caretaker manager as the club in the next days but the former United captain is available at 6/1 to remain in the role permanently.

Ryan Giggs, who had a 50% win rate when he was interim manager at the club in 2014, is 10/1 to return to Old Trafford as a permanent fixture.
