Jack O’Connor New Favourite For Kerry Job

We can report that there has been substantial movement in the next Kerry manager betting, resulting in Jack O’Connor taking over at the head of the market as the new 8/13 favourite.

Jack O’Connor led Kerry to three All-Ireland titles during his time as manager back in 2004, 2006 and 2009 so his credentials are in order to take over the reins at Fitzgerald Stadium.

Following the news that the selection committee have O’Connor in “pole position” in the race,

…we saw an influx of bets roll in and had no choice but to slash his odds from 5/2 to 8/13.

It’s a quick turnaround for O’Connor in the betting after he drastically drifted out to 8/1 on Thursday and then again to 10/1 on Friday last week, before support began to stir up once again Monday.

Previous favourite, Diarmuid Murphy, who is an ex-player and was a selector with O’Connor and Fitzmaurice, has been pushed out to 5/2 from 5/4 as support began to dry up.

Kerry minor football manager Peter Keane was the early 7/4 favourite to replace Fitzmaurice once the news broke he would be stepping down, but he has since been eased out to 9/2 take charge of the Kingdom’s senior footballers.

Also priced at 9/2 is All-Star Kerry footballer Maurice Fitzgerald, who had been a selector under Fitzmaurice for the previous two seasons.
