Harrington Tipped To Captain Europe

USA ran out convincing 17-11 winners of the 2016 Ryder Cup at Hazeltine at the weekend and have been installed as the 10/11 favourites to win the 2018 Ryder Cup, which takes place at the Albatros Course of Le Golf National in France.

Europe are priced at 11/10 to win the 2018 Ryder Cup with a tie priced at 10/1.

BoyleSports have priced up a market on who will be the 2018 European Ryder Cup captain with Thomas Bjorn the favourite to land the coveted role at 4/6.

Ireland’s Padraig Harrington however has been the subject of early support and is currently the 3/1 second favourite to take the reins from Darren Clarke.

Clarke is 12/1 to be named the European Captain for the second successive tournament whilst Miguel Ángel Jiménez is priced at 10/1 with 2014 European captain Paul McGinley on offer at 14/1 alongside Paul Lawrie.

Jim Furyk heads the betting at Evens to land the role as the 2018 USA team captain whilst Davis Love III can be backed at 6/1 to keep the role. Steve Stricker is priced at 4/1 to make the step up from his role as Vice Captain.
