Tiger Backed For Open Success At Carnoustie

The Open Championship

Outright Betting

While Brandon Stone was busy breaking records on his way to winning the Scottish Open at Gullane, 14-time major winner Tiger Woods was further up the Scottish coastline acclimatising himself with The Open track at Carnoustie.

Woods was backed into 25/1 from 28/1 on Monday morning to win The Open,

…as he bids to get back into the major winners’ enclosure this week having posted respectable 7th and 12th placed finishes in his two previous Opens at the East Coast venue.

World Number 1 Dustin Johnson heads the betting at 12/1 with Rory McIlroy joint second favourite at 16/1, although punters have been deserting the Holywood man in recent weeks as he had previously been a 10/1 antepost favourite.

We are paying out each-way on 8 places at The Open, as well as giving money back as free bets on selections who finish second or third including ties.

Americans have already won the first two majors of the year but, McIlroy aside, it’s the Europeans who are seeing much of the early money.

The likes of Tommy Fleetwood and Tyrrell Hatton are attracting significant support having played some stellar golf over the last year and customers are clearly expecting a major breakthrough.
