The ground may have just gone a shade soft for McCreery’s charge at Killarney last time out but that won’t be an issue at Gowran Park and hopefully he can continue the good run of form that jockey Billy Lee has been in of late.

Shark Set To Grab Shock Win
A big priced horse that is worth a small each-way investment at Gowran Park is the Shark Hanlon trained Red Aggressor in the lowly rated 47-65 handicap.

These type of races can often throw up some funny outcomes and this eight-year-old will be a big price for a reason as his form of late has been nothing of note, but there’s bits and pieces of history that suggest he has a chance.

Red Aggressor will be ridden by Rachael Blackmore who rode out her claim over jumps earlier this week but still claims a valuable 3lbs on the flat and Hanlon has fitted a tongue tie and cheek pieces on the horse for the first time.

His last run on the flat was at Gowran Park but that was on soft ground, as was his previous run at Leopardstown. At Dundalk, on his first run for nine months in March…

he wasn’t disgraced at a big price and that was off a mark of 66 compared to 59 which he’ll run off here.

The horse only has three wins to his name, one of which was a charity race, but two of those were on good ground and the other was on the all-weather over seven and eight furlongs. If the headgear can bring about a bit of improvement, he may give you a good run for your money at a big price in a race where there are no stars.
