BoyleSports Pledge €2m Prize Money In New Irish Grand National Deal

BoyleSports have confirmed they are putting up a prize fund of €2m over the next four years after inking a deal to continue as sponsors of the Irish Grand National.

The new deal takes Ireland’s largest independent bookmaker up to ten years as sponsor of the iconic steeplechase, which will once again be the richest race on the Irish National Hunt calendar in 2020.

The 2019 instalment saw Willie Mullins land the race for the first time as Ruby Walsh led home a historic 1-2-3 for the champion trainer on board Burrows Saint.

BoyleSports CEO Conor Gray was joined by Fairyhouse General Manager Peter Roe and Racing Ambassador Robbie Power as they celebrated the deal at BoyleSports’ Headquarters in Dundalk on Monday.

The 150th running of the BoyleSports Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse takes place on Monday April 13th 2020 and will have a prize fund of €500,000.

Leon Blanche, Head of Communications for BoyleSports said: “We are delighted once again to be sponsoring the BoyleSports Irish Grand National and with a pot of €500,000 to play for at Fairyhouse on Easter Monday, we’re going to relish what is certain to be another very competitive renewal of the showpiece event on the Irish National Hunt calendar.

“As a company we pride ourselves on our continued commitment to Irish racing and with this new deal taking us up to 10 years as the main sponsor of the iconic race, we can look forward with vigour to some thrilling contests with €2m up for grabs over the next four years.”
