Carlingford Lough Supported For National Glory

The Aintree Grand National is just eight days away and we can report support for the John Kiley trained and JP McManus owned Carlingford Lough.

The 10-year-old son of Kings Theatre, who won the Irish Gold Cup at Leopardstown in February and was last seen finishing fourth to Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Don Cossack, is now 20/1 from 25/1 following substantial support.

Our traders expect his price to shorten even further should JP McManus’ retained rider Barry Geraghty opt to ride the Irish Gold Cup winner.

Last year’s winner Many Clouds currently heads the betting at 8/1 with Kim Bailey’s The Last Samurai and the Paul Nicholls trained Silviniaco Conti next in the betting at 12/1.

Another JP McManus owned runner and Kim Muir winner, Cause Of Causes, is priced at 16/1 alongside the Jonjo O’Neill trained Holywell and Neil Mulholland’s The Druids Nephew.

2014 BoyleSports Irish Grand National winner, Shutthefrontdoor, is priced at 20/1 alongside the aforementioned market mover Carlingford Lough, Unioniste and Jim Dreaper’s Goonyella.

Goonyella remains the firm’s biggest liability in a race that has already been exceptionally busy with our five places catching the eye of each-way punters.
