Glen Forsa Into Arkle Contention As Odds Are Slashed

Kalashnikov fell out of contention in the antepost market for the Arkle after he was soundly beaten in the Kingmaker Novices’ Chase at Sandown on Friday.

The former market leader looked beaten a long way out and finished 19 lengths behind eventual winner Glen Forsa, who has shot up to 14/1 from 33/1 for the Arkle next month. Favourite Le Richebourg has tightened up to 5/2 from 10/3 while recent Gowran winner Cilaos Emery is into 5/1 from 13/2.

Pat Kelly’s stable star may still get a run in the Bobbyjo Chase at Fairyhouse this month and while he remains the favourite for Cheltenham’s blue riband race, he has now been eased to 3/1 from 5/2.
