Glorious Goodwood 2017 Day 5 Betting Tips – Niall Cronin

Two men at the top of their game this week have been Willie Mullins at Galway and Ryan Moore at Goodwood and neither are finished adding to their haul yet, although Willie might have to wait until tomorrow for major honours.

Good Week For Moore
The third leg of Ryan Moore’s treble yesterday was in the Mile Handicap for David Elsworth and in the feature Stewards Cup today, Moore will again ride for Elsworth and hopefully again ride a winner for the veteran trainer as he is on the interesting three-year-old, Sir Dancealot.

This three-time winner will be like most of the field in that he won’t have encountered such testing ground on the turf but two of his three wins as a juvenile last season were when the ground was described as standard to slow and hopefully he’ll be able to get through it, although his likeable effort in the Bunbury Cup at Newmarket last month was on good to firm ground.

That run was a big step forward though and an experience that will stand him in good stead for this competitive race over a trip which he has won at and if he can recapture the best of his two-year-old form…

he’ll have a big say here.

Recommended Bet:
Sir Dancealot (13/2) – 3.35 Goodwood
