The 2016 Crabbie’s Grand National weights were announced on Tuesday at a lavish reception in London’s Sky Gardens.

The top weight and last year’s winner, Many Clouds, who has been allotted 11st 10lbs heads the betting at 12/1.

Shutthefrontdoor, who finished fifth in the race last year and was one of the biggest liabilities in Grand National history, is next in the betting at 20/1.

The Jim Dreaper trained Goonyella (10st 8lbs) is also on offer at 20/1 and is already a €250,000 antepost loser for BoyleSports, primarily as a result of one punter waiting on him for a €150 each-way double at 33/1 with Stewarts’ Cup winner Magical Memory, who was backed at 16/1 and won at 6/1.

The son of Presenting, who was runner up in the Scottish National, has the potential to be a greater antepost liability than the AP McCoy ridden Shutthefrontdoor was is 2015.

Willie Mullins, who won the race with Hedgehunter back in 2005, holds seven entries with the Gigginstown House Stud owned, Don Poli who has been allotted 11st 9lbs most prominent in the betting for the Clonsutton handler at 25/1.

BoyleSports ambassador, Gordon Elliott, became the youngest trainer to win the race with Silver Birch back in 2007 and holds six entries with Cause Of Causes and Ucello Conti both priced at 33/1, Roi Du Mee (50/1), Operating and Our Father currently 66/1 and Bless The Wings a 100/1 outsider.

2015 BoyleSports Irish Grand National winner, Thunder And Roses trained by Sandra Hughes is priced at 33/1 to complete the Irish and English Grand National double, last achieved by Numbersixvalverde.

Last year’s runner up, Saint Are, who is trained by Tom George, has been allotted 10st 5lbs can be backed at 33/1 to go one better this year whilst Alvarado (10st 2lbs) who finished fourth in 2015 is also a 33/1 chance.
