Happily Ever After Fairytale On The Cards At Newmarket

Aidan O’Brien does it again. A ninth 2000 Guineas and a first Classic success for son Donnacha.

There really is no stopping the Ballydoyle maestro and he’ll be back to Newmarket on Sunday from America to see if Happily can give him a Guineas double.

Coolmore set for more Happy days
Just like the 2000 Guineas, this 1000 Guineas looks a fascinating race with plenty of questions to be answered and there are solid claims to be made for plenty of the field but it is hard to get away from Happily.

When they say the form is in the book you can’t really argue with Happily,

…especially being a dual Group 1 winner as a juvenile doing it over seven furlongs and a mile. While her assault on the Breeders’ Cup didn’t go to plan in the autumn, she can certainly be forgiven for that one blip.

In Ireland last season her only outing on decent ground came at Leopardstown when she bolted up by five lengths. But, she got through the ground fine to win the Moyglare and the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere against the colts with 2000 Guineas third Masar back in third that day and it’s hard to argue with that form.

Godolphin will be hoping for compensation with Soliloquy or Wild Illusion but if you were looking at one for an each-way bet, Donnacha O’Brien’s mount, Sizzling, might not be a bad option but Happily is the one they all have to beat.

Oliver to raise the roof at Dundalk
In the penultimate LMFM Handicap, Bringthehousedown makes appeal to win for the first time.

Second at Dundalk last month on his first start of the year, that was as close as Bringthehousedown got to winning yet but that was a decent effort behind Joey Sasa. Last time out at Navan on more testing ground he wasn’t disgraced behind Hareth who ran well under his revised mark last week.

Bringthehousedown looks to be off a fair mark of 68 and he’s back over the trip which saw him post his best performance yet so hopefully he can go one better here.

Recommended Bets:
Happily 15/8 – 3.35 Newmarket
Bringthehousedown – 4.50 Dundalk
