Jewel In The Crown For O’Brien At Curragh

Mark Johnston was quick to snap up the services of Ryan Moore today and his booking in one Newmarket race could make it a profitable to a good Saturday for punters.

Moore To Be King
Irish based owner Garrett Freyne owns the three-year-old Rufus King who Moore is booked to ride for Johnston in the Animal Health Handicap and back in this sort of grade could see him back to winning ways.

Some of Rufus King’s form in listed company would give him a good chance here even giving weight away and…

his price of 10/1 looks massive.

Compared to last week at Epsom, Rufus King should be appreciate the track at Newmarket and the better ground, and the form of his listed second at Lingfield earlier this year has worked out well so if able to haul the weight he goes into today with every chance.

Lordan To Be The Jewel For O’Brien
Joseph O’Brien has been firing in winners lately and at the Curragh today Rattling Jewel has to have a big chance. The six-year-old is a three time winner at the Curragh and previously won off a rating 9lbs higher than today.

Wayne Lordan knows him well and has won on him twice and retains the ride in this nine runner contest for which he is a 2/1 shot but looks solid.

On his seasonal debut Rattling Jewel was a fine second and O’Brien’s horses seem to be in even better form now and…

his liking for the track and proof that he is up to this level is a big plus

…although any rain that may scatter around the Curragh overnight would be a big help to him.

Recommended Bets:
Rufus King (10/1) – 3.05 Newmarket
Rattling Jewel (9/4) – 3.20 Curragh
