Old Lion Is New Favourite For Grand National

David Pipe’s Vieux Lion Rouge is the new market leader for the Aintree Grand National at 12/1 after antepost favourite Minella Rocco was taken out of the race to be aimed at the Gold Cup again next year.

Nigel Twiston-Davies’ Blaklion, who was last seen finishing third to Vieux Lion Rouge at Haydock, is now 14/1 from 16/1 whilst the Brian Ellison trained Definitly Red is also priced at 14/1.

Gavin Cromwell’s Raz De Maree is now 20/1 from 33/1 whilst Cheltenham Cross Country Chase winner Cause Of Causes is also priced at 20/1…

…alongside The Young Master, Carlingford Lough, Ucello Conti, Pleasant Company and Saphir Du Rheu.

Raz De Maree is now the worst result in the antepost book having been supported down to its current price of 20/1 from an initial opening price of 40/1 back in early February when the weights were announced.
