Richard Hughes UK Jockeys Championship Bets Refunded

Following the news that Richard Hughes will be retiring in two weeks’ time and not at the end of the season BoyleSports are refunding all Ante Post stakes on him winning the UK Jockeys’ Championship.

The champion flat jockey has retained the title for the past three seasons and had been heavily backed by punters to claim the title once again this season.

Hughes will retire after Glorious Goodwood on August 1st to focus on his career as a trainer.

Silvestre De Sousa continues to looks set to claim the title at 4/11. Paul Hannigan is now his nearest rival in the betting at 7/1, but is eight wins behind De Sousa, who is currently on 53. James Doyle is next at 8/1 with William Buick and Ryan Moore both on offer at 10/1 and Graham Lee, who has a total of 40 wins, is a 25/1 shot.

Not only will the racing community be sad to see Richard Hughes hang up the saddle after Glorious Goodwood, but many punters may be feeling disgruntled having backed him to claim the UK Jockey Championship for the fourth time so we’re hoping the refunds will ease their pain somewhat.
