Roly In Poly Position To Return To Winning Ways

As 1/8 shots go Aidan O’Brien to break the record for Group/Grade 1 winners in a year looks nailed on now and he can add another at Newmarket today.

Roll With Ryan
John Gosden and Frankie Dettori lowered the colours of Aidan O’Brien a few times this season with Enable and will try to do the same again with Persuasive in the Sun Chariot Stakes this afternoon but back Roly Poly to get back to winning ways.

The three-year-old filly is a dual Group 1 winner already this season and while she didn’t manage to land a blow at Leopardstown in the Matron Stakes on Irish Champions Weekend, she looks overpriced at 9/2.

Her form with Winter stands up well this season and while she faded out of it in the straight at Leopardstown last time, if you can ignore that run she’d certainly be half the price and…

is worth trusting to get back to winning ways here.

Buick Back On Point
William Buick returns to action at Ascot with one ride and he can certainly look forward to getting back on a winner. Blue Point is the 5/4 market leader for the Group 3 John Guest Bengough Stakes as he drops in class after a couple of Group 1 engagements.

The ground at Haydock last time just proved too heavy for the three-year-old and a return to a sounder surface and without the quality of opposition to face…

Blue Point would appear to be one of the better bets of the day here.

Golden Chance For Andy Mc
One at a price to watch in Ireland is Golden Poet for Andy McNamara and Robbie Power. This lad looks overpriced at 20/1 but a cautious note is that the second reserve Mullinavat would be a massive danger if getting into the race this morning.

Without Henry de Bromhead’s recent winner, this looks a real wide open race and Golden Poet is overpriced running off a mark of 104 against some much more exposed rivals.

In his Herald column on Saturday, BoyleSports ambassador Power suggested that Golden Poet had travelled like a potential winner at Galway last time until getting stuck in the ground and the nicer going today and the flatter track should suit him much better.

If that proves to be the case you are backing a bumper winner off a low weight at a big price and…

he shouldn’t be ignored.

Recommended Bets:
Roly Poly (9/2) – 2.40 Newmarket
Blue Point (5/4) – 3.00 Ascot
Golden Poet (20/1) – 5.10 Fairyhouse
