John Gosden’s Roaring Lion, who was runner up by a neck at Doncaster, has been cut to 16/1 from 25/1 for the 2018 Derby and introduced at 16/1 for the 2000 Guineas next year.

Saxon Warrior has further shortened for the 2018 Derby after an incredible win in the Racing Post Trophy Stakes, seeing off Roaring Lion by just a neck.

Having impressed on his debut at the Curragh then landing the Beresford Stakes, he is a colt to watch.

What an incredible achievement it is for Aidan O’Brien to break Bobby Frankel’s Group One wins world record and in such spectacular fashion at Doncaster. It was never in doubt that the handler would break the world record this calendar year, it was always just a question of when. A massive congratulations to him from everyone at BoyleSports.
