Supasundae Is A Good Champion Hurdle Bet

I thought Supasundae ran a cracking race when finishing 2nd in the Ryanair Hurdle at Leopardstown on Saturday and I was delighted with him.

His options will be kept open, he’ll be entered in the Stayers Hurdle and Champion Hurdle in Cheltenham.

He’s a very consistent horse, always runs his race and…

I think if he was to go the Champion Hurdle, which is a strong possibility, the 16/1 he is at the moment could be a good each-way ante-post bet.

Samcro
Samcro was bitterly disappointing once again on Saturday. I’m sure Gordon and the team are going to check him over thoroughly and see if they can find anything wrong with him.

If nothing comes to light, the chances are that we’ve seen the last of Samcro this season and he’ll be put away to go chasing next season.

Gold Cup
I think a lot of people are waiting to see the return of Sizing John and to see Presenting Percy this season.

I wouldn’t lose faith in Road To Respect just yet, the last race didn’t suit him. The pace was too slow and he was hampered a couple of times so I still think he’s a strong Gold Cup contender.

Sizing John

Everything is going according to plan with Sizing John.

The ground wouldn’t have suited him at Leopardstown so we were happy to leave him at home. He’ll be geared up towards the Kinlough Brae Chase in Thurles.

With the help of God it will start raining so on because the weather at the moment is very unseasonable!

2018
2018 has been a fantastic season once again.

Supasundae winning two Grade 1s over 2 miles was probably the highlight of the season for me. He wasn’t out of the first three all season and he’s started this season just as he left off.

Winning a Grade 1 for Willie Mullins at the Punchestown Festival was another highlight.

There are downs too obviously and losing Finian’s Oscar was a major one for the Tizzards and for me. Winning a Grade 1 onboard him at Aintree was fantastic and it’s disappointing that we will never get to see just how good he could have been.

2019
I can’t wait to get Sizing John back on the racecourse. After missing most of last season through injury, the Gold Cup picture is one I get wait to get back involved with.

I also thought Moonshine Bay ran a strong race in the 3 mile Novice Chase at the Leopardstown Christmas Festival and he could be a player for the BoyleSports Irish Grand National or the 4 miler at Cheltenham. Stamina in his forte and those big handicap chases in the Spring could be right up his street.

I’m also very excited to see how Lost In Translation gets on tomorrow. He always comes to his best in the Spring so he’s another exciting one to look forward to.
