Support For Geraghty In Old Roan Chase

Twelve runners will go to battle for Saturday’s Old Roan Chase at Aintree with the Alan King trained Uxizandre currently heading the betting at 7/2.

Barry Geraghty last won the race on Monet’s Garden in 2009 and with the Irish jockey booked to ride the JP McManus owned Uxizandre, we expect the horse to prove popular between now and race day on Saturday.

The Tom George trained Module is next in the betting at 9/2 to defy top weight with Nicky Henderson’s Rajdhani Express currently 11/2. Last year’s winner, Conquisto, can be backed at 6/1 to win back-to-back races and repeat what Monet’s Garden did in 2009 and 2010.

The Paul Nicholls-trained Rolling Aces is priced at 8/1 with Edgardo Sol, Mr Moonshine and Wishfull Thinking all priced at 12/1.

Since the race was established in 2004, no Irish runner has won and on Saturday, the Thomas Cooper trained Lucky William (25/1) will bid to break the duck.
