Dublin Rose Maria Coughlan Closes In On Sydney Rose

Dubliner Maria Coughlan has shortened from 11/1 to 3/1 and is now joint favourite to take home the Rose of Tralee crown.

The 25 year-old from Malahide has seen her price dramatically shorten after a flurry of bets in recent days and is now joint 3/1 favourite alongside early favourite Sydney Rose, Aisling Walsh.

The stunning beauty is no stranger to clocking up victories, as one of the top Irish dancers in the country.

She’s been World Champion twice and has won the All-Ireland five times and it looks like she’s set to continue her winning streak in the Dome next week with her native Dublin supporters getting right behind her with their wads of cash.

Punters are also getting behind Offaly Rose Jennifer Byrne as her price has tumbled from 50/1 to 9/1 following a strong show of support. The newly-qualified doctor who represented Ireland on the world stage as an international soccer player looks strong going into this week’s competition.

Dubai Rose Lisa Ní Dhonnchú is also one to watch after shortening to 20/1 from 50/1. The Galway native, who moved to the UAE two years ago, has been well backed to take the title in recent days.
