Gillian Anderson Shakes And Stirs James Bond Betting

Gillian Anderson is fast becoming the unlikely new fan favourite to replace Daniel Craig as 007.

A tweet by Anderson, featuring herself in the 2017 movie poster for the film, sent the rumour mill into overdrive and resulted in punters crying out for her to be entered into the betting.

We gave punters what they wanted on Monday morning by installing her as a 33/1 shot, but they were quick to get behind the X-Files actress and following a string of large bets, she has been cut into 16/1 for the iconic role.

One punter has so much faith in Anderson becoming the new 007 that they placed a €50 bet on her at 33/1.

Five actors stand in Anderson’s way of becoming the first ever female Bond, with Tom Hiddleston the one to beat at 4/9. Irish actor Aidan Turner is another strong contender for the role at 8/5 with Tom Hardy and Idris Elba both 10/1 shots and Damien Lewis just ahead of Anderson at 12/1.
