Johnny Ward New DWTS 5/4 Favourite After Impressive Jive

There is a new favourite to win Dancing With The Stars after launch night saw the men take to the stage for their first performances, which didn’t disappoint.

Johnny Ward topped the leaderboard with an impressive 22 points

for his jive to ‘Johnny be Goode’ by Leif Garrett, with the judges giving him high praise for a strong first performance. The Love/Hate and Fair City actor’s odds quickly crumbled to the new 5/4 frontrunner after punters rushed to back him in-running on the BoyleSports App, forcing traders to slash his odds from 11/4.

Previous early favourite Peter Stringer has suffered a drift from 6/4 to 10/3 despite scoring 16 points, seeing him place joint second with Darren Kennedy, for his Salsa to Ricky Martin’s ‘Come with Me’.

Although the ladies have yet to showcase their newfound moves, or lack of, on the dancefloor, country star Cliona Hagan has seen a fresh uptake in support, resulting in her taking over third place in the betting at 5/1 from 7/1.
