Blues can only muster draw at Carrow

Chelsea in their quest for Champions League football failed to benefit from the early kick-off in the Premier League today, when they could only muster a 0-0 draw at Carrow Road against Norwich.

Full-Time Result:
Norwich 0-0 Chelsea

Fernando Torres had another luckless day at the office, as his side could only manage a 0-0 draw against Norwich at Carrow Road. It was another match filled with blanks for the Spanish striker as he once again failed to find the net, leaving his side to collect just one point.

Torres, who has not scored since October, endured another frustrating afternoon, denied in the first half by John Ruddy before then firing wide in front of goal from eight yards, a chance which he would have certainly finished easily back in his Liverpool days.

Norwich tested Petr Cech through captain Grant Holt and went on to record a first clean sheet of the season as they continued their progress under Paul Lambert.

This result leaves Chelsea now five points behind third place Tottenham with a game in hand and with Arsenal and Newcastle battling for the fourth Champions League spot, Andre Villas Boas’ men will need to start performing sooner, rather than later.
