A mouth-watering clash at the Allianz Arena awaits this Saturday afternoon, with third-placed Leverkusen hoping to shock the hosts and cement their place further in the Champions League qualification spots.
Bayern Munich, relentless once again in the Bundesliga, are marching towards a tenth-straight title. Ridiculously impressive. Furthermore, they have won 10 of their 12 matches at home this campaign and are short odds of 4/1 for this, so the visitors are up against it and priced 11/2.
A glimmer of hope, though, lies in attack as Frenchman Moussa Diaby has been fantastic goal-scoring form of late with seven goals and one assist in seven games. It’s a huge shame, however, that striker Patrik Schick has been ruled out with calf injury, unable to add to his 20 goals this season.
For the neutral, they’ll be hoping for an entertaining goalfest. Bayern to win and both to teams to score offers some value at 20/23.
THE LAST 3 MEETINGS – BAYERN MUNICH VS BAYER LEVERKUSEN
Lewandowski to score first is 2/1, while wideman Diaby is a huge 14/1 to open the scoring and a very appealing 3/1 anytime goalscorer price.
In those 10 wins at home, Bayern have scored three or more times in seven of them, but at the other end have only kept five clean sheets. That’s why Leverkusen will be licking their lips at finding the back of the net at least once on Saturday.
Add to the fact Leverkusen have won five of their last six league games, and their away record reads six wins and three draws from 12 matches, there’s reason to have a bit of optimism.
Bayern to win 3-0, 3-1 or 3-2 has been boosted to 10/3, while Leverkusen to with either half has been boosted up to 9/4.
PREDICTION: We fancy goals from both teams but think Bayern will just edge it, perhaps 2-1 or 3-2.
Leverkusen are the second-best team on the road behind Bayern, with 30 goals scored from those 12 matches, although they are prone at the back with 20 conceded. Bayern at home are the second-highest scorers with 37. Leverkusen to score in both halves is 16/5.
It does seem inevitable that both teams are going to score, which is priced 4/11 initially, while Over 4.5 goals in the match is 7/5. A score draw also offers good value at 9/2.
