Billys Diva Has It All Her Own Way In Easter Cup As Odds Plummet

There were some surprising results on Saturday night at Shelbourne Park in the quarter-finals of the 2021 Easter Cup with Billys Diva now the new favourite to scoop up the €25,000 prize in two weeks’ time.

Billys Diva clocked a very fast 29.47 in the Easter Cup, booking her spot into the semi-finals with great ease.

It’s no surprise to see her odds plummet into 11/4 favouritism from 10/1

…after running away from the original ante post favourite Great Name That, to beat him by 8½ lengths.

This talented daughter of Good News – Jaytee Sahara, recorded the fastest sectional of the competition to the third bend in 17.20 so it’s fair to say that Billys Diva is coming into her best form just at the right time.

The second fastest greyhound to the third bend was the Graham Holland-trained Golden Tiger who has seen his odds crumble into 12/1 from 50/1 to become the Easter Cup champion and keep the title in the kennels with Wolfe winning it last year.

Golden Tiger produced a career best to win in 29.67 with Boylesportsbingo 3½ lengths back in second. This Paul Hennessy-trained contender is now 20/1 from 50/1 following strong support.

Newinn Session maintained his unbeaten streak in this Easter Cup so far after a stunning victory in 29.72. His odds have been clipped into 4/1 from 8/1 while the final heat winner Ballymac Wild is 6/1 from 10/1.

Kingdom Derby winner Knocknaboul Syd is 4/1, Great Name That is 9/2 and Beach Avenue, who ran a stormer to qualify, is 25/1 from 40/1.
