McGregor Supported For Round 1 Comeback Victory

Conor McGregor is being backed to return to the Octagon with a first round knockout this month ahead of his highly anticipated UFC 246 bout with Donald Cerrone.

The Dubliner is making his long awaited return to action in Las Vegas next weekend and we have cut the odds on a first round victory for McGregor into 15/8 from 5/2.

That makes it the most likely round to see a McGregor victory despite coach John Kavanagh’s prediction that the extra weight will see the bout being decided ‘in the later rounds.’ It’s a red-hot 1/5 shot that the fight does not go the distance.

His American opponent claimed this week that he is ‘absolutely’ a better mixed martial artist than the Notorious, but he is going into the clash as the 9/4 outsider on January 18th. McGregor is the 1/3 favourite on his first UFC appearance since his controversial defeat to Khabib Nurmagomedov in 2018.

It would be quite a statement if he could do it and it’s fair to say punters aren’t expecting any rustiness when he steps back into the Octagon.
