‘The Notorious’ Now Set For Khabib Showdown?

Conor McGregor has been heavily backed for a grudge match against Khabib Nurmagomedov after he was spared a jail term for his involvement in a fracas at the UFC223 media day in April.

The Dubliner was sentenced to five days community service but will not have a criminal record and his travel will not be affected. Within hours of the news, punters had backed ‘The Notorious’ to make his return to the Octagon as soon as October.

McGregor is now 1/3 from 5/6 to be the main attraction at UFC229

The event takes place in Las Vegas on October 6th and there are rumours that the bout has already been scheduled having been in the works for several months.

It’s 7/2 that fans will have to wait until November to see the UFC star back in action while a more immediate return in September is unlikely at 20/1.

Khabib is the red hot favourite to be the next opponent that McGregor faces having been backed into 1/10 from 1/3 after the latter’s New York court appearance on Thursday.

A third bout against Nate Diaz is 8/1 to be next up for the Crumlin man while Georges St-Pierre is 12/1 to be the opponent when McGregor finally makes his highly anticipated return to MMA action.
