Buccaneers vs Ravens Odds, Prediction & Best Bet

Let’s look at the Buccaneers vs Ravens odds for this fascinating week 8 Thursday Night Football game between two teams with Super Bowl hopes.

The Tom Brady-era Bucs are at an all-time low after a humiliating 21-3 defeat at the hands of a lowly Panthers team. Tampa Bay need a win here badly. Lamar Jackson’s Ravens team have been up-and-down this season, but they still find themselves at the top of the AFC North through seven weeks.

Tampa Bay v Baltimore Prediction

Baltimore have looked like the better team heading into this game. Let’s check out the matchups and see who should come out on top on Thursday night.

Buccaneers Offence vs Ravens Defence

Bucs Offence

This Tampa Bay offence has really been struggling to put points on the scoreboard this season. They rank towards the bottom of the NFL with an average of only 17.7 points per game.

Tom Brady or not, this is a terrible NFL offence right now. Honestly, it’s hard to understand why they are struggling so much too.

The talent is there with Brady at QB, great receiving options including WRs Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. Leonard Fournette is also a good player at the running back position. Sure, the offensive line is shaky, but Brady has overcome bad O-Lines before with his quick passing.

Things need to change on offence, and they need to change fast for Tampa Bay. Unfortunately, it is hard to imagine much has changed in the four days between their 3-point performance against Carolina and this Thursday night Ravens game.

Ravens Defence

The Ravens are typically a team that you can expect to have one of the best defences in the league. However, that has not been the case this season. Baltimore have conceded the 11th most points per game in the NFL along with the 6th most passing yards per game conceded.

This Ravens defensive unit have also allowed multiple 10+ point comebacks. In fact, through seven games Baltimore have been up by 10 or more points in every game they have played which is an incredible stat, especially for a 4-3 team.

Ravens Offence vs Buccaneers Defence

Ravens Offence

Lamar Jackson and Tom Brady have only gone head-to-head once before. Back then, it was Jackson who came out on top as the Ravens beat the Patriots 37-20 back in 2019.

This Baltimore offence has been keeping the scoreboard ticking over with a rank of 4th in points per game scored. This team is at its best when they are running the ball while Jackson can be more effective in the passing game when the Ravens use play-action.

Tight end Mark Andrews is by far Lamar’s favourite target so expect to see him get plenty of targets in this game. In the running game Gus Edwards should get most of the carries while Jackson is liable to run the ball himself a few times too.

Bucs Defence

For as bad as the Buccaneers have been this season, their defence has been one of the better units in the league. Tampa Bay is the 6th best scoring defence in the NFL at this point with only 17.7 points conceded per game.

If the Buccaneers offence continues to struggle as much as it has in recent games, then the defence will need to be at its best to keep Tampa Bay in this game. This defence has struggled to cover tight ends this season which means that Mark Andrews of the Ravens could rack up a lot of yards and TDs here.

Prediction: Ravens -1.5
