Cillian Murphy Shortens To Replace Daniel Craig As James Bond

Next James Bond After Daniel Craig

Outright Betting

Cork actor Cillian Murphy, who plays gangster turned politician Tommy Shelby in the hit TV series Peaky Blinders, is picking up speed to become the next James Bond after some bets were placed on the star.

The gangster that Murphy has portrayed for five seasons has been voted the greatest TV character of all time following a massive poll ran by LADbible to over 400,000 followers, but now his odds to play the famous British spy are beginning to tumble.

Murphy has been out at 20/1 to play the 007 role, however following some speculative bets that were placed on the Irish talent on Tuesday morning, BoyleSports had to trim him into 14/1 to replace Daniel Craig. Murphy has played many great roles in movies like The Dark Knight, Inception and Dunkirk and has previously been tipped to become the second Irish actor to play Bond.

James Norton remains the favourite and has tightened his grip on favouritism as he is now an 11/8 shot from 13/8.

No Time To Die, which will be released in April, marks Craig’s final outing as 007 and speculation is continuing to ramp up with a replacement yet to be announced.
