2021 Irish Election Odds Shorten

A general election is still on the cards according to Irish Punters who are continuing to expect a call to the ballot box before the end of the year.

Recent opinion polls have indicated that confidence in the coalition is on a downward spiral with support for both Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael falling by 5% and 3% respectively

. . according to recent Ipsos/MORI figures for the Irish Times.

The same poll revealed a majority of voters believed the government was not doing a good job in responding to the pandemic and BoyleSports have since slashed the odds on a 2021 election into 7/4 from 7/2.

Sinn Féin, who are planning to run an extra 25 to 30 candidates in the next election, are 4/6 favourites to emerge with most seats, with leader Mary Lou McDonald in pole position to be elected Taoiseach at 11/10.
