Are Liverpool Back In The Premier League Title Race?

Liverpool are continuing to regain support for a second consecutive Premier League title after their victory over West Ham United on Sunday saw them leapfrog Leicester City in to third place in the table.

The Reds looked to have hit their stride yet again as two second half goals from Mo Salah and a third from Georginio Wijnaldum secured them a second successive 3-1 victory on the road. They have now seen their title odds clipped into 4/1 from 7/1 in the space of four days, with leaders Manchester City the 2/7 odds-on favourites.

Tottenham’s defeat to Brighton on the south coast has seen their chances of a top four finish pushed out to 2/1 from 5/4 as they were overtaken in the betting by Jose Mourinho’s old employers Chelsea.

The Blues are into 6/4 from 7/2 to finish the season in the Champions League places under new boss Thomas Tuchel, who has yet to see his new side concede since taking his seat in the Stamford Bridge dugout.

Liverpool’s back-to-back wins have revived their fortunes and regained the confidence of punters. We’re back into 4/1 from 7/1.

The current bottom three, meanwhile, are all being well backed to remain there come the end of the season, with Sheffield United (1/12), West Brom (1/10) and Fulham (1/2) all odds-on for the drop.

Newcastle United are the next main danger of being dragged into a relegation battle but their odds of playing Championship football next season were eased to 3/1 from 5/4 following a morale-boosting 2-0 victory over Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday.
