Dogged O’Donovans Pulling In The Punters

Gary and Paul O’Donovan’s defence of their men’s lightweight double sculls title remains on track at the European Rowing Championships after they finished second in Saturday’s semi-final.

The Skibbereen Rowing Club brothers have now booked their place in Sunday morning’s final and are 5/1 to retain their European title.

Olympic champions Pierre Houin and Jeremie Azou are the red-hot 1/3 favourites to win the final for France.

But we continue to see plenty of support coming in for the Cork natives following their qualification for the final and should they pull like dogs to victory in tomorrow’s final several patriotic punters will have pulled a stroke over us.
