Van Gerwen Unwavered By Eidams Near Defeat

No.1 seed Michael Van Gerwen’s PDC World Championship title quest was in jeopardy on Friday night when Germany’s Rene Eidams levelled to two sets apiece.

Mighty Mike rallied to win 3-2 at Alexandra Place and, despite the sweat, remains the firm favourite to win the tournament at 11/10. Phil Taylor is second in the betting at 4/1 to win the title for a record 17th time.

Defending champion Gary Anderson claimed an easy 3-0 win over Andy Boulton and has been cut into 11/2 from 13/2 as a result. BoyleSports have a special offer surrounding the Flying Scotsman that sees money back as a free bet on all pre-tournament outright bets if Anderson wins the PDC World Championship.

Peter Wright has been cut into 14/1, alongside Adrian Lewis, from 20/1 after a burst of support off the back of his 3-0 win over Keegan Brown on Thursday.

It looked as though we were about to see one of the greatest upsets in Darts history in the Ally Pally when Rene Eidams levelled 2-2 with Van Gerwen, however Mighty Mike did prevail and remains as the one to beat at 11/10 and a large five figure liability for the firm.

Anderson shortening into 11/2 is a good sign for all BoyleSports punters with pre-tournament outright bets

…as they will receive money back as a free bet if the Flying Scotsman retains his title.
