Can Chizzy End Van Gerwen’s Drive For Five In Dublin?

Dave Chisnall has earned himself another shot at breaking his PDC major title duck tonight after he ended Glen Durrant’s run at the BoyleSports World Grand Prix in Dublin on Friday night.

The all-English affair went the way of Chisnall who took out a 170 finish on way to a 4-1 victory over the Middlesbrough man to set up a thrilling finale against PDC World Champion Michael Van Gerwen, who cruised into the decider with a 4-0 victory over Chris Dobey.

The Dutchman is a hot 2/9 favourite in his bid for 5th BoyleSports Grand Prix crown, while Chisnall has been chalked up at 10/3 to be the first Englishman to get his name on the trophy since Phil Taylor in 2013.

Chisnall was the beaten finalist that year and went down without winning a set in the final, with Van Gerwen just 11/2 to repeat Taylor’s feat and whitewash the St Helens man in what is his first major final since 2016.

It’s a 25/1 shot that the final sees a 9 dart finish either competitor, while the crowd at the Citywest are 9/2 to see a repeat of the 170 checkout pulled off by Chisnall in the semi-final.
