Sea of Grace 50kb

Day Of Grace At Deauville

Another day and another Derby Trial winner for Aidan O’Brien at Chester on Friday and it would be a surprise if Sir John Lavery didn’t land the Lingfield Derby Trial on Saturday but there’s also Classic action in France and in the French 1,000 Guineas one filly looks ready to rock to major honours.

Grace Can Fulfil Promise
There wasn’t much grace shown by the owners of Sea The Stars when they cut their ties with John Oxx last season and it could be hard viewing for her former trainer if Sea Of Grace can win the French 1,000 Guineas on Saturday and she looks to have the credentials to do so.

The filly is now trained by William Haggas but was always held in very high regard last season by Oxx and although she didn’t land a blow when making her debut last month, that was a creditable first outing for her new trainer when finishing fifth and four lengths behind Daban who then went on to finish third behind the Ballydoyle duo of Winter and Rhododendron in the 1,000 Guineas.

A winner over a mile last season…

the trip and the track at Deauville should be ideal for Sea Of Grace and she looks a good bet at 5/1.

Another Beautiful Day In Store For Harrington
Racing returns to the Curragh this weekend and the unstoppable Jessica Harrington looks to have strong claims of landing the feature Group 3 Blue Wind Stakes.

On official ratings the Beautiful Morning has a bit to find and on her last run she has to reverse the placings with a couple of rivals but there was a lot to like about that run and she can find enough improvement to claim this prize.

The four-year-old is a daughter of Galileo out of Date With Destiny, the only filly to run by the late George Washington, so Beautiful Morning is certainly beautifully bred, and if she can improve on what was her first start for Harrington…

she can get the better of Laganore who is the highest rated of the nine declared runners.

One At A Price In The Victoria Cup
The Victoria Cup at Ascot is going to be the big betting heat on Saturday afternoon and course and distance winner…

Outback Traveller is a horse that could run a big race at a big price.

Outback Traveller is only one of two course and distance winners in the field and the six year old could well be vulnerable to a younger, more progressive rival, but when last seen in handicap company, Outback Traveller was too good in the Wokingham over six-furlongs at the Royal meeting here and the return to handicap grade and the step up in trip could well see him outrun his odds.

Recommended Bets:
Sea of Grace (5/1) – 3.15 Deauville
Beautiful Morning (3/1) – 3.55 Curragh
Outback Traveller (16/1) – 4.00 Ascot
