Dubliner Hits €80,368 Jackpot for €4 Valentine’s Day Punt

Valentine’s Day can bring with it engagements and new love, but for one Dublin punter it brought in an astonishing €80,368 after their plucky racing treble clicked.

The customer wishes to remain anonymous, but we can reveal that they placed their €2 each-way Treble, total stake €4, across a selection of three horses racing at Clonmel, Chelmsford and Fontwell on Thursday.

The ambitious punter decided to take a punt on horses with generous odds with Annie Odds priced at 125/1 to win the 13.35 at Clonmel, Ted Bach at 20/1 to win the 14.05 at Fontwell and Don’t Do It at 14/1 to win the 20.30 at Chelmsford.

Annie Odds and Red Bach both gave the Dubliner an early sweat as they won their respective races by just ½ a length each.

It was then a nerve-racking wait until the final piece of the puzzle, the 20.30 at Chelmsford.

Their bet was in jeopardy once again when the last selection Don’t Do It was battling with Zorawar towards the finish line, but the Michael Appleby trained horse triumphed by a neck and transformed this punter’s €4 into a lifechanging €80,368.
