The 2021 Dog of the Year, Explosive Boy, is the favourite to win the €20,000 Dundalk International on Tuesday next week.

The County Louth venue hosts this unique race with the biggest names in the sport invited to take part. BoyleSports made the Patrick Guilfoyle trained Explosive Boy the 6/4 favourite soon after the draw was made, with his kennelmate Good Cody the 2/1 second favourite in the betting.

Explosive Boy trialled at the venue last month clocking 29.63 over the 550 yards trip, his first time at the track. Good Cody is no stranger to Dundalk having won the 2021 Irish Sprint Cup title in a blistering time of 20.86.

Cody trialled over the longer trip of 550 twice last month, clocking 29.79 and 29.61 with course experience going to be vital.

Next in the betting is the 2021 BoyleSports Irish Greyhound Derby runner-up Singalong Sally, who is 9/2 with her kennelmate and recent Larry O’Rourke National Produce Stakes winner Gaston Pecas is at 12/1.

The 2022 Sporting Press Online Edition Irish Oaks winner Raha Mofo is 11/2 for trainer Murt Leahy, while Liam Dowling’s 2021 English Derby and Laurels finalist Ballymac Fairone 12/1.
