Eddie Redmayne Set For First Ever Oscar

With the Oscars just one day away, the betting suggests that it will follow in the footsteps of the Golden Globes.

Best Picture is the most competitive of the categories with Birdman and Boyhood battling it out at 4/7 and 13/10 respectively. Birdman does have the edge as the 4/7 favourite and is the most popular bet with punters.

Eddie Redmayne’s portrayal of Stephen Hawking in The Theory Of Everything has already saw the Brit claim a BAFTA, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award and at 1/4 he is expected to add an Oscar for Best Actor to the impressive list. Julianne Moore also cleaned up in previous award ceremonies and at 1/66 is tipped to top it all off with an Oscar for Best Actress.

JK Simmons is the red hot favourite to be awarded Best Supporting Actor at 1/50 for his role in Whiplash. Boyhood’s Patricia Arquette is also as short as 1/50 to double her award success and claim the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.

Having been honoured countless times already for his directorial role in Birdman, Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu is 4/7 to walk away with his first ever Oscar for Best Director. Richard Linklater is his main threat in the betting at 5/4 for Boyhood.

The Golden Globes has given a strong indication of who will claim an Oscar on Sunday. Birdman is once again expected to do well but Boyhood is lurking in the shadows as the 13/10 second favourite to steal the Oscar for Best Picture.

Eddie Redmayne has had a fantastic run throughout the award season thus far and at 1/4 he is in prime position to top it all off with his first ever Academy Award.
