Antonio Conte Runaway Favourite For Tottenham Job

Antonio Conte is the clear favourite to be appointed the next manager of Tottenham Hotspur after the club parted company with Nuno Espirito Santo on Monday morning.

The Portuguese coach was named manager of the month for August, but Saturday’s 3-0 defeat to Manchester United saw Spurs slide to eighth in the table with just nine goals and 15 points from their opening ten league games this term.

Now former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is being heavily backed to take the job after a move for the Italian during the summer fell through.

He had been an odds-on favourite before Santo was appointed, but is back in pole position for the Tottenham hot-seat after plummeting quickly into 1/20 from 2/1 within an hour of Santo’s exit.

No other candidate in the betting is even in single figures, with Ryan Mason a 10/1 second favourite and the quartet of Eddie Howe, Graham Potter, Brendan Rodgers and Paulo Fonseca all rated 12/1 shots.
