They have it all to do if they are to overturn a first leg deficit and revive their Europa Conference League campaign, but it was a good weekend for Ange Postecoglou’s side as Giorgos Giakoumakis bagged a hat-trick against Dundee to send Celtic three points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.

The Hoops therefore make the trip overseas buoyed by a strong domestic run which has seen them pick up a whopping 56 points from their last 60 available which has put them in pole position to regain the bragging rights in Scotland.

Their hopes of silverware in Europe however suffered a huge setback last week in Glasgow, when Bodo/Glimt shrugged off concerns they would lack match fitness in their off season by taking a 3-1 lead back to their home ground.

The Norwegian champions had not played a competitive game since December 12th and lost some key players in the transfer window, but they pulled off a result which certainly upset the odds and were aided by a goal from debutant Runar Espejord, who is 15/8 in the anytime goalscorer betting for his competitive bow at home.

Freezing temperatures are forecast at kick-off in the Arctic Circle, but the hosts are on a very hot streak of six consecutive home wins in Europe including an eye-catching 6-1 victory over Jose Mourinho’s Roma, which was the highlight of a successful group stage in which they leaked only five goals across six matches.

Celtic’s task therefore looks all but straightforward, however they are even money favourites to bounce back in the 5.45pm kick-off on Thursday.

They have their own positives to draw on having won all three of their UEFA two-legged ties against Norwegian opposition, while the first leg defeat stands out as their only reverse in 19 matches in all competitions.

With no away goal rule in play, 2-0 and 3-1 victories for the visitors, would be enough to force the tie into extra-time, are both available at 12/1 in the correct score betting,.

Fresh off his treble at the weekend, Giakoumakis is the one rated most likely to find the net for Celtic at 11/8, while first leg goalscorer Daizen Maeda is a 13/8 shot to score again as he has done in three of his last five games.
