Bowyer Shortens To Guide Birmingham City To Premier League

Birmingham City are coming in for some early support for a successful Championship campaign after their schedule for the 2021/22 season was revealed on Thursday.

The Blues were handed a tricky opener for the new campaign, which begins with a trip to Bramall Lane to play Sheffield United as the hosts begin life under new manager Slavisa Jokanovic.

The first home match of the campaign comes against Stoke City a week later and the season will also finish with a St. Andrew’s clash against Blackburn Rovers in May.

There is confidence that Birmingham can build on some promising form towards the end of last season when they won five and drew two of their final ten league fixtures after Lee Bowyer took charge.

They have shortened into 7/2 to get off to a winning start after being chalked up at 4/1 on Thursday morning,

while the chances of promotion for Lee Bowyer’s side have also been clipped into 10/1 from 12/1.

Birmingham are 40/1 shots to go up to the Premier League as Champions, with Fulham the early 11/2 favourites to bounce straight back up to the top-flight after their relegation last season.
